Quilt Pricing

I provide a machine quilting service and I look forward to quilting your quilt to your specifications. The cost of quilting is priced according to the type of quilting you would like to have on your quilt. Each price level is based on a dollar per square foot price and may be calculated by multiplying the length by the width of the quilt in inches and dividing the results by 144. I have a minimum quilting charge of $50 per quilt.

The prices below do not include additional charges for specialty thread, fabric, piecing, batting, hand binding, shipping and insurance. Use these prices and fill out our Quilting Order Form and enclose one form with each quilt. If you are shipping a quilt, please email or call first to discuss your order. I request a 50% deposit of the estimated service total cost with the balance due upon completion and prior to return shipping.

For your shipping convenience, use the Quilt Preparation form as a checklist for sending. Be sure to insure your valuable quilt tops when shipping.

Overall Quilting- $2.75 per sq. ft. and up
This quilting service, sometimes called edge-to-edge, covers the application of one pattern or larger meandering on the entire quilt. You may choose from the many patterns I have on hand or let me select a pattern that will compliment your quilt design.

Overall Quilting and One Border design- $4.00 per sq. ft.
This quilting service is the same as the Overall but covers the application of two pattern designs - one for the center of the quilt and another for the border.

Heirloom Quilting - prices start at $4.50 per sq. ft. and up
This quilting service allows you many and varied options for the quilting designs to be applied to your quilt. Use designs from my collection, your own, or I will create a unique design for your quilt. It includes quilting that will enhance your quilt, such as motifs, in-the-ditch, continuous curves, small background meandering, or a combination of designs or patterns.

Binding Service Prices
I do not offer machine binding because I believe your quilt deserves the traditional finished look of hand binding. I offer two levels of binding service. If you provide the fabric, for $30 I will make and attach it for you to hand stitch in place. Or you can provide the fabric and I can do the whole job for you at the prices in the table below.

Batting
I keep a supply on hand as a convenience for my customers. If you would like me to provide the batting, the following are the types and prices for those I carry.

Backing
If you don't have the backing I can provide it for you upon request. Ask for quote prior for fabric of choice - printed cotton, muslin - white or Ecru.

Thread
I have a large collection of thread. I carry cotton, poly, mono filament, varigated, rayon, and metallic threads. There is an additional charge if you want me to use the specialty threads and if you want more than 2 colours per quilt.

Other
An additional labour charge of $25 per hour will be required for work such as piecing backing, repairing seams, squaring up backing and extensive pressing.

Shipping
If you are shipping your quilt to me, you are responsible for paying the cost of shipping both ways. Please use my Quilt Preparation form as a checklist for shipping instruction and notify me when you send your package. If you deliver the quilt, I can ship it back to you. I usually use one of the couriers. If you want the quilt insured, there will be a charge in addition to the shipping cost.
